  • Final Lamborghini Aventador special edition teased ahead of tomorrow’s formal unveiling

Lamborghini has teased what is believed to be the final version of its V12 Aventador coupe, slated for a formal unveiling on July 7 (tomorrow).

A silhouette of the low-slung sports car is accompanied by the caption: “It takes time to become timeless.”

Few details can be ascertained from the new backlit images, however it appears the vehicle will be void of the more extreme aerodynamic aids featured on other previous high-performance models such as the Lamborghini Centenario.

Unverified online reports suggest the updated model will be known as the S Jota (or Aventador SJ), and limited to a production run of fewer than 1000. Alternate rumours also suggest the model could draw influence from the iconic Countach of the 1970s and 1980s.A

A revised 6.5-litre V12 is expected to produce approximately 575kW, positioning it above the existing Aventador SVJ in terms of performance, but below the hybrid Lamborghini Sian.

The new supercar was spied earlier this week testing near Lamborghini's factory in Sant'Agata. You can see the full video below.

Presently, the entry-level Aventador S is priced from $788,914 before on-road costs in Australia. The Roadster variant is priced from $825,530.
