jnrdavo
A potentially defective turbine wheel in the turbochargers of 2011 and 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo and Turbo S models and the 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo has led to a recall. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/07/panameranhtsa.jpg There are 270 units affected among the three models, with a casting defect being cited as the cause of the trouble. The issue could lead to a fracture in the turbocharger itself, which could then lead to follow-on problems, smoke and risk of fire. Porsche is notifying owners this month, after whcih they can take their cars to their dealers for repair free of charge. A complete notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is below. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/01-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/02-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/03-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/04-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/05-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/06-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/07-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/05/08-2012-porsche-panamera-turbo-s-review_thumbnail.jpg [source: autoblog.com] PRESS RELEASE Report Date: July 17, 2012 at 03:39 PM NHTSA Campaign ID number: 12V329000 Vehicle Make / Model: 2012 PORSCHE CAYENNE, 2011 PORSCHE PANAMERA, 2012 PORSCHE PANAMERA Manufacturer: PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA, INC.
